Eric Church at Stagecoach: ‘I’m Just Trying to Have Some Fun’

99.5 WYCD Detroit's Best Country

Eric Church fans at Stagecoach  — the three-day country music festival in Indio, Calif.—  got a lucky treat when he played a long, strong set that saw him “test[ing] some stuff out” during his Friday night headlining spot.

Church recently announced his Outsiders World Tour, but this Stagecoach show was a chance for him to in front of a large U.S. crowd and mix new songs in with his more familiar material.

“I’m just trying to have some fun and test some stuff out,” Church told Riverside, Calif. station KFRG (a Radio.com station). “Right now it’s a little bit of an exploration process. We’re going to go out there and see what happens.”

And he also is playing with the pacing of the show — the emotional ups and downs. “The best shows have those moods, they have those peaks, they have those valleys — it should be a show,” he said.

Eric Church Talks Ticket Scalpers: ‘I Hate ‘Em’

99.5 WYCD Detroit's Best Country

Eric Church has taken a stand against ticket scalpers. After nearly 1,000 of his concert tickets were purchased by scalpers, he canceled those tickets and made them available for resale to fans.

In an interview with K-FROG 95.1 and 92.9 (Radio.com stations) this weekend at Stagecoach Music Festival, Church opened up about his decision to cancel the 902 tickets from the scalpers.

“I hate that. I hate ’em,” he said. “We put these parameters in place. We do everything we can to make it hard on them. If it was an even playing field I wouldn’t be as passionate as I am. But it’s not. They have companies. They’ve got 100 of these bots that are always probing.”

He added: “The way they succeed is just unfair. There’s only so much you can do.”

The Swon Brothers Are Huge Fans Of Detroit Lions & A Detroit Country Girl Too! [Interview]

99.5 WYCD Detroit's Best Country

Even though we all watched the Swon Brothers compete on Team Blake on The Voice, Edwards & Lee had a chance to get to know these brothers a little better before they take the stage at the WYCD Downtown Hoedown on Sunday June 1st! We discovered that they are HUGE and almost fanatical Detroit Lions fans, and one of the brothers has a ‘secret crush’ on a beautiful and newly single fellow country artist, who also happens to be from the Motor City. Any guesses who ‘that girl‘ could be?
